August is National Wellness Month, a time to think about our health and how we can improve it or to reflect on how our healthy habits throughout the year has enhanced our lives. At Flatrock, the wellbeing of our residents and staff is our first priority and we encourage ways to better manage stress, provide self-care and create healthy routines.
Wellness is not just physical fitness, but emotional and mental fitness as well. Studies have shown that managing stress promotes emotional wellbeing and boosts immunity to support physical health.
There are small changes that may impact your health positively in big ways over time:
- Increase your water intake
- Add more fruits and vegetables to your meals
- Monitor your sleep and adjust habits if needed to promote better sleep habits
- Move more, whether it’s taking frequent walks, joining a yoga class or other exercise class
- Learn to meditate
We wish you all a happy, healthy summer and year!
